Keeping it fair

We have noticed that there has been some very enthusiastic voting in the Tinka t-shirt contest lately. The rule of our contest is that a visitor can vote for each Tinka once a day, only. We realized from the start that this was a difficult rule to enforce, but we hoped it wouldn’t be too much of a problem.

Unfortunately, our statistics show that things have gotten a little out of control. Although we think it is fantastic that people are so excited about winning a t-shirt with their very own Tinka on it, our first priority is to keep the contest as fair as possible.  We talked about it here at Tinkatolli HQ, and decided that the most fair thing to do for this last week’s contest was to pick a random winner. (see our  Terms&Conditions)

We will do the same for next week’s contest, as well, and see how that goes. You’re welcome to keep voting, and mustering votes, just for the honor of being on the Top Tinka list. But the votes will have no bearing on the Tinka t-shirt contest.

We’ll post back next week – and let you know how future contests will be decided.

Great. Yes as Vilius said this is a very fair choice and I hope that everyone is having a Tinkatastical day.

I did not cheat, as I told all of my friends and followers on twitter to vote for me. Obviously, they all did. That’s how I got so many votes in the first place- but then my friend double voted for me again and again and I’m sorry if this affected you. I will never do this thing or tell my friends again. :)

    Hi Salt,

Thanks for your comment, but please don’t worry. We don’t blame anybody, at all. We could just see that many tinkas were getting double and triple (and triple, triple, triple :-) votes. But it wasn’t necessarily the people who created the Tinkas that were even doing it (it could even be a few kids who don’t even make Tinkas, but just want to cause trouble). That’s why we decided the most fair thing to do was to pick a random winner.

We are considering adding a few more things to try to prevent the double voting, but right now we really want to focus all of our time on getting Tinkatolli ready.

omg yes, random is so dumb, i mean. you have people who dont even try at all n just create a tinka, and they end up winning i t-shirt. on the other hand, there are lots of people who try so hard, they get friends, family and/or everyone they know to vote for them and yet they still cant manage to win a t-shirt. i know this because my little bro (he’s 6) has been trying for 2 months now and hasnt won anything, he was begging me to vote for him and he told all his friends at school and everything. he was first on the “top tinkas” board in the gallery, and then another tinka with 3 votes won the t-shirt. this is a really UN-fair way of picking a winner. i hope you will actually read this and consider what i just said,
    thanks,
